COLBY, Kan. – Seward County volleyball sophomore outside hitter Mariana Silva was named the week nine Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday, the league announced.

Silva, a native of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, earns the honor for a second time this season as she led the Saints to a 1-1 week. She earned her first honor of the season in week five on Sept. 23rd.

Seward earned its highest ranked win dating back to the spring 2021 season on Wednesday when they handed No. 9 Colby its first conference loss this year.
