Seward Takes Two of Three in North Platte

The Seward volleyball team won two of their three matches to open their season in North Platte, Nebraska this weekend.  This was opening weekend for Jelena Cohadarevic as head coach.  She played at Seward in 2007 and 2008 and is Seward’s all time leader in kills with 1,380 and the only Seward player to record over 1,000 kills and digs in her career.

The Saints opened with a loss Friday evening to Gillette 22-25, 16-25, 18-25.  Seward bounced back Saturday morning with a win over McCook 25-18, 19-25, 25-20, 25-20.  Seward capped off the weekend with a thrilling win over the host North Platte winning 28-26, 25-23, 16-25, 18-25, 16-14.

Seward is 2-1 and faces that same North Platte team Friday at noon in McCook.  Seward will also play Iowa Western Friday at 2pm before a Saturday slate with North Central Texas at 9am and a match up with #7 Indian Hills at 11am in McCook.
