Seward Falls to 3rd with Loss at Barton

Hours after moving up to #7 in the NJCAA rankings, the Seward County volleyball team traveled to Great Bend to play Barton.  After the Cougars beat Seward 3-2 April 2 in the Region 6 championship match in Liberal, they responded with another 3-2 win over Seward Monday night at the Kirkman Center in Great Bend.  Seward lost 25-19, 17-25, 17-25, 25-19, 11-15.  Seward falls into third place in the Jayhawk at 2-1 as Barton is 4-0 and Butler is 2-0.  Seward played without outside hitter Gabriela Badilla who is playing for her native Chile in the South America championships in Columbia.  Seward is 8-3 overall and hosts Garden City Wednesday night at 6:30 for their second home match of the season.
