Seward County Fire Battles Early Morning Fire

On Friday February 10, 2023 at 03:45 am Seward County Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle Fire on Highway 54 just East of County Road R.

Units arrived on scene to find a 53 foot box trailer fully involved with Fire. The driver was able to disconnect the truck from the trailer, allowing the truck to be safely moved from the area.

Eastbound and Westbound traffic on highway 54 was shutdown while firefighters contained the fire. No injuries were reported from the incident.

The fire department responded with 2 chief officers, 5 firefighters, 2 fire engines, and 2 water tenders. The Seward County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the incident.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and trailer and contents were a complete loss. No damage value was available at press time.
