Seward County Commission Meets, Approves Vehicle Purchases

The Seward County Commission met Monday evening and approved vehicle purchases for JCAPS and the Road and Bridge Department.

Approved for JCAPS was the purchase of a 2019 Ford Fusion and a 2020 Ford Transit Connect both from Foss Ford of Liberal. Total purchase price was to be $42,657.00 but with the trade in of 5 vehicles, the purchase price came to $24,257.00.

After discussion with Road and Bridge Supervisor Tony Hermann, the Commission approved waiving the County’s purchasing policy and purchased s used bobtail dump truck from Kenworth in the amount of $41,400.00.

The Commissioners approved the appointment of Fred Miller, Tom Willis, and Dennis Sander to the Southwest Medical Center Board and approved to offer a Guardian At Litem contract to Barbara Nash. If she accepts the contract, she would be replacing Nathan Foreman, who is now the County’s legal counsel. His resignation from the Guardian at Litem position was approved at Mondays meeting.
