Seward County Commission Meets, Approves an Agreement with Tria Health

The Seward County Commission met Monday evening and approved an agreement with Tria Health for chronic condition management. Impact to the County is $20,000.  In the first year of service, Tria Health offers a 1:1 financial guarantee.  At the end of the first contract year, Tria Health will provide its financial report within 30 days of receiving the final month’s data.  Should Tria Health fail to provide savings equal to or greater than the client’s investment, Tria Health will repay the difference between the verified savings and the client’s investment.

The Commission also approved Seward County to be declared a Rural Opportunity Zone this designation will help with Student Loan Repayment Assistance and 100% State Income Tax Credit.

Scantlins Furniture was the recommended bid for flooring in the Courthouse. There bid was $12,754.50

Memorandums of Understandings were approved for the Family Planning grant program at the Health Department for the services of a licensed APRN, and a Licensed Dietician, Susan Lukwago, for WIC and Maternal Child Health.

The donation of the Water tanks from Arkalon Ethanol  are moving forward as Arkalon Ethanol has agreed to split the cost with Seward County and Lease agreements for printer/copiers were approved by the Commission for the Register of Deeds and the County Attorney’s Office as was the purchase of a copier/printer was approved for Cimarron Basin Community Corrections.

The Emergency Operations Center was discussed at the meeting along with the flashing signs, everything will remain in place for the time being.

KDOT was allowed to purchase a small portion of Seward County property next to the sand pit and appointed Angela Eichman to the County Appraiser for a term beginning July 1, 2021, and expiring June 30, 2025.

Commissioners also moved the first meeting in July to Tuesday July 6th due to the 4th of July holiday.

And the Sheriff’s Department will sell 11 Custom Signal MVR’s to the Liberal Police Department in the amount of $1,100.
