Saints Season Ends in Overtime

The Seward County Saints season came to an end Saturday at Koch Arena in Wichita as Cowley County avenged last years defeat at the Region VI by defeating Seward 72-70 in overtime. The Saints led 25-16 at one point of the first half, however the Tigers came back to take a three point halftime lead. Cowley then led by as many as ten in the second half. The Saints came back though to re-take the lead with under three minutes left to play. Free throws hampered the Saints though as Cowley sent the game into overtime and held on for the two point win. Seward finished their season at 23-9. The Saints won the Region VI a year ago in route to a third place finish at the national tournament.
