The City of Liberal invites residents and visitors to a ribbon cutting celebration for the new “Dorothy’s Slipper Slide” attraction. The event is scheduled from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11th, 2025 at the Tourist Information Center, 1 Yellow Brick Road.

Join the public celebration for Liberal’s newest Attraction.

Towering at nearly 10 feet tall and stretching over 18 feet long, this isn’t your average playground slide. Imagine cascading down a dazzling, oversized red slipper, an experience sure to delight visitors of all ages. This incredible new landmark is a testament to Liberal’s proud heritage as the official home of Dorothy Gale, offering a whimsical and unforgettable adventure.

Join in for the ribbon cutting and stay and be one of the first to slide down this beautiful slide. Enjoy activities, entertainment, food and fun. At sundown, walk across the street to watch a Movie hosted by Dorothy’s House Coronado Museum.
