Rattlers Win First Two at Andover

The Liberal Rattlers won their first two games at the tournament at Andover High School on Friday night.  The Rattlers rallied to beat Hutchinson 8-4 and then defeated the Wichita Saints 16-6.

In the 5 pm game, Hutchinson led 4-1 after four.  Liberal scored one in the fifth and three in the sixth and three in the seventh to rally for the 8-4 win.  Carlos Campos was 3-4 and Erick Baca was 3-4 with three RBI’s.  Zevin Littell was 2-3 with three RBI’s.  Zane Eyler was 2-3.  Oscar Rubio pitched four innings allowing one earned run.  Justn Degollado pitched a scoreless inning and Zane Eyler pitched two scoreless innings.

In the night game, the Rattlers got off to a great start and never looked back.  Liberal scored three in the first and five in the second and third innings.  Carlos Campos was 3-3 while Shay Kerr, Oscar Rubio, and Zane Eyler had two hits a piece.  Eyler had three RBI’s.

Liberal plays McPherson Saturday morning in Andover.  If they win, they play in the championship game Saturday night.
