Petty Honors KU Booster for Landing Original Rules

State Representative Reid Petty of Liberal introduced a concurrent resolution on the
house floor on Monday to honor longtime KU donor David Booth who spent
$4.3 million to buy the Original 13 Rules of Basketball written by Dr.
James Naismith when he invented the game in 1891. It the most amount of
money ever spent on a piece of sports memorabilia ever. Booth plans to donate the
rules to KU.
