OKLA. Gov. Fallin Issues Statewide Burn Ban

KSCB News - August 3, 2012 2:53 pm

With blistering heat and drought conditions
across Oklahoma, Gov. Mary Fallin has issued a statewide burn ban.
Fallin announced the ban Friday. It prohibits outdoor burning in
all 77 Oklahoma counties, effective immediately.
The Oklahoma Forestry Service recommended the ban after
analyzing fire activities and predictions for the current drought
conditions to continue.
The governor’s statewide burn ban supersedes all county burn
bans and will remain in effect until it is lifted by the governor.
The ban prohibits campfires, bonfires, fireworks and any outdoor
burning. Charcoal and gas grilling is allowed if it’s done at least
five feet from flammable vegetation.
