Oklahoma Secretary of Transportation Tim Gatz along with local and state officials from Guymon gathered in Guymon Friday to break ground on a resurfacing project along US-54.

The groundbreaking officially kicked off the more than $33 million project that will resurface US-54 along the southside of Guymon between SW 5th St. and Hurliman Rd. This project will improve a major thoroughfare through Guymon, helping daily commuters and visitors get around town.

The resurfacing will begin Monday, September 18.

Speakers at the event included Representative Kenton Patzkowsky, Guymon Mayor Kim Peterson and Sec. Gatz.
