Ollie Lynn Kinser, age 80, died on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at his residence in Liberal, Kansas.
He was born on Friday, October 13, 1944, the second child of Lloyd and Violet (Wiles) Kinser in Laverne, Oklahoma.
Ollie started school in the first grade at age 5. He attended eleven different schools in twelve years as his parents made several moves for work’s sake during that time. He graduated from Balko High School in Balko, Oklahoma in 1962 at the age of 17. He attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma for part if one semester.
In the fall of 1963 Ollie attended Apostolic Faith Bible School in Baxter Springs, Kansas. At the conclusion of the four month term of school he was ordained to the ministry. Over the next two years he was involved in ministry in revivals, vacation Bible schools, youth camps, and youth ministries. He attended a second term at Apostolic Faith Bible School in 1964.
It was during these terms at AFBS that he met and fell in love with the beautiful lady that would become his wife, Anna Margaret Scroggs. They were married on March 6, 1965, at Union Church in Spearman, Texas.
They began pastoral duties in September 1965 in Sugarland, Texas. Over the years Ollie and Anna pastored churches in Sunray, Texas; Enid, Oklahoma; Shattuck, Oklahoma; Joplin, Missouri; Baxter Springs, Kansas where he served as superintendent of Apostolic Faith Bible College Arnett; Oklahoma; Hardesty, Oklahoma; Canyon, Texas; and Liberal, Kansas. After pastoring Trinity Faith Church in Liberal for three years, they began Ollie L. Kinser Ministries and launched a new work in Liberal calling the church THE LATTER HOUSE WORSHIP CENTER. After a few years the name was changed to ABUNDANT LIFE FELLOWSHIP, INC.
Ollie’s life has been consumed with the study and teaching of the Word of God. Those studies netted him a Doctor of Divinity degree in 1984 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1987.
He is survived by his two sons Delvin Kinser and wife, Rhonda of Liberal, Kansas and
Darrin Kinser and wife, Angela of Stillwater, Oklahoma,
Two sisters, Shirley Sutton and her husband, Austin of Taneyville, Missouri, and
Donna Kinser of Joplin, Missouri,
Five grandchildren, Bradley Kinser,
Alyssa Lara and her husband, Isai,
Mark Kinser,
Anna/Leif Kinser,
Dawson Kinser and his wife, Audrey,
Two great grandchildren, Haven Joy Lara, and
One on the way.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Margaret Kinser,
Parents, Lloyd and Violet Kinser,
Brother, Walley Kinser, and
Sister, Dorothy Carmen.
Visitation will be 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Trinity Faith Church, 2264 S. Kansas. Pastor Mark Kinser will be presiding.
A burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
