Born in St. Louis on March 1, 1953, Michael was the beloved son of Fred and Judy Beckerman. He was a graduate of Fowler High School and spent several years farming alongside his father, developing a deep connection to the land and agricultural life. He later went on to own and operate both a welding shop and a liquor store, reflecting his entrepreneurial spirit and hands-on work ethic. In 1990, he began his career in real estate, specializing in farmland and ranch properties. Over the years, he became a trusted figure in the agricultural real estate community, known for his integrity, dedication, and deep knowledge of the field.
A devout and faithful Catholic, Michael attended daily Mass and prayed the rosary each day. He was especially committed to volunteering for Adoration during the holidays so other families could spend more time together. He was passionate about sharing his faith—often handing out Catholic literature and encouraging others to reconnect with their spiritual lives. His generous spirit extended to countless Catholic churches and organizations, where he donated his time, talents, and treasure.
Michael had a wide range of interests and a truly memorable personality. A sprint car enthusiast, he not only cheered from the stands but also participated in local races, always donating any winnings to charity. He was known around Wichita as an avid walker and could often be spotted rollerblading through the park with 10-pound weights in each hand. Gifted in mathematics and blessed with a remarkable memory, Michael never saved contacts in his phone—he simply remembered everyone’s number. He loved the Kansas State Fair and never missed a chance to go to the movies.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Judy Beckerman. He leaves behind many friends, business associates, and members of the community who will miss his energy, generosity, and unwavering faith.
Special thanks to his dear friend Mary Zellner and her family for their unwavering support in his later years.
