Mario Rodriguez passed away at Wesley Medical Center on Friday, September 19, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas. He was born October 30, 1947, to Jose De La Luz Ayala and Jesus Hernandez Rodriguez in Santo Toribio, Chihuahua, Mexico.
In 1970, he traveled from Mexico to Colorado where he met the love of his life, Linda Sanchez, and together they moved to Ulysses, Kansas, where they raised their family. Mario was an avid member of the Catholic church.
He worked most of his adult life in the oilfield business. When he wasn’t working Mario loved hanging out with his family and friends. He loved to sing and play the guitar and accordion. When his grandkids and great-grandkids were born, he was overwhelmed with joy. He loved hanging out and talking to them all the time. His love for family was the center of his life.
Mario is survived by his wife, Linda Rodriguez of Ulysses; two children, Eric Archuleta and wife, Rozella, of Ulysses, and Dana Sanchez of Ulysses; six grandchildren, Eric Archuleta and wife, Alyssa, of Wichita, Melissa Grissom and husband, Will, of Wichita, Melanie Ramos and husband, Octavio, of Ulysses, Chris Guerrero of Ulysses, Evette Ochoa and husband, Adrian, of Ulysses, and David Guerrero and wife, Shelly, of Garden City; and 17 wonderful great-grandchildren.
The family will have a private inurnment at a later date. Arrangements are in care of
