FOWLER – Antonia Loya, age 90, passed away Tuesday evening, July 22, 2025, at her Fowler, Kansas, residence.
She was born January 8, 1935, at Chihuahua, Mexico, the daughter of Trinidad Loya and Maria De la Luz Venzor. As a young girl, she attended school in Chihuahua for several years. A resident of Fowler for twenty years, she was a homemaker.
She attended the Fowler Friends Church and enjoyed gardening, cooking, drawing, keeping herself busy, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In 1961, she married Angel Medrano in Chihuahua. He precedes her in death.
She is survived by her children, Angel Medrano and wife Grace of Fowler, Kansas, and Maria Esther Castro and husband Manuel of Roswell, New Mexico; a brother, Arnulfo Loya of Roswell, New Mexico; two sisters, Bertha Loya and Herlinda Mendoza both of Roswell, New Mexico; grandchildren Adrian and Veronica of Roswell, Jr., Crystal, and Omar of Fowler, Angel of Lakin, Kansas, Maria, Mauricio, Silverio of Dodge City, Kansas, and Humberto of Garden City, Kansas; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Natividad Medrano and Estelle Medrano; two brothers, Trinidad Loya and Humberto Loya; and three sisters, Margarita Estrada, Manulea Mendoza, and Rita Medrano.
A rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Fowler Friends Church, Fowler. Interment will follow in the Fowler Cemetery.
The family would welcome memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
