McMurry Family Care Center is pleased to welcome Maricruz Haines, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, as its newest family nurse practitioner. With a strong foundation in patient care, extensive nursing experience, and a deep commitment to community health, Maricruz is excited to serve individuals and families in the Liberal area.
A proud graduate of several regional institutions, Haines holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Washburn University (December 2024), a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma Panhandle State University (May 2018), an Associate of Science in Nursing from Seward County Community College (May 2015), and a Licensed Vocational Nurse certificate from Frank Phillips Community College (May 2014). She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Haines brings a diverse clinical background to her new role. She has served in various capacities, including as a travel nurse with Aya Healthcare, a registered nurse at Southwest Medical Center and Heritage Community, and previously worked at McMurry Clinic as both a registered nurse and medical assistant. Her professional journey began as an office clerk at Seaboard Foods, where she first discovered her passion for health care.
“My philosophy of care is anchored in empathy, advocacy, and a commitment to empowering patients,” Haines shares. “I believe every individual is a unique tapestry of physical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs. My goal is to foster trust in healing through compassionate, evidence-based practice.”
Her calling to the nursing profession was sparked by a personal family emergency. After accompanying her brother on a medical flight following a serious accident, she was moved by the skill and kindness shown by the nurses who cared for them.
“They not only stabilized my brother but also reassured and comforted me during one of the scariest moments of my life,” she said. “That experience showed me how powerful nursing can be—not just clinically, but emotionally.”
Outside of work, Maricruz enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and two stepchildren. Whether attending sports games, baking, reading, gardening, or exploring new destinations, she finds joy in family life and continuous discovery.
Haines is now seeing patients at McMurry Family Care Center. The clinic is accepting new patients and walk-ins, and accepts most major insurance plans. To schedule an appointment, please call (580) 338-3361.
