Marriage is Saturday’s Focus

Marriage takes work. Your marriage counseler tells you that before you tie the knot. But maybe you didn’t believe until you got married how much a happy and healthy marriage entails. Saturday, there will be a six hour session at First Southern Baptist Church dedicated to marriage. The Heart of a Great Marriage program helps couples learn steps, strategies, and beliefs people can bring to their lives to either totally transform them or quietly improve them. The Christian based event is sponsored by Liberal’s Ministerial Alliance. First Southern Baptist pastor Jack Jacob says marriage isn’t easy. “When you have to figure it out on your own, you figure out very quickly it takes work,” Jacob said. “That doesn’t mean you don’t love the person or you don’t have affection for them it just means that you are interested in pouring into it. For those who are thinking about getting married they’ll be able to see these couples, hear there storie, and get some advice. Maybe if they think of some of these things on the front end they won’t have to step on landmines.”

The Heart of a Great Marriage is from 9:00 am-3:00 pm Saturday and costs 30 dollars per couple. First Southern does have scholarships available if that doesn’t fit into the budget. Call 624-0186 to purchase tickets.
