MacArthur Elementary Announces New Principal

USD 480 has announced Dr. Maureen Richard as the next Principal of MacArthur Elementary.

Dr. Richard has spent the previous two school years as MacArthur’s Assistant Principal. Prior to her current position, she taught kindergarten at MacArthur and Meadowlark, while also serving on various committees and teams during her 10 years at USD 480.

Dr. Richard will assume her new role as principal after Mrs. Workman’s retirement at the conclusion of this school year.

“Liberal has always been a place that has allowed for me to grow, both personally and professionally, and I look forward to this next chapter. I am so thankful for the many mentors I have had throughout my time at USD 480, especially Mrs. Workman. We have become a strong team these last two years and I have learned so much about leadership from her. I know I have big shoes to fill, but I am confident in my ability to continue the great things she has put in place at MacArthur. Mrs. Workman will be greatly missed at USD 480 and I hope to make her proud as her successor.” – Dr. Maureen Richard
