On Saturday, November 23, two members of Liberal Wrestling Club traveled to Amarillo to wrestle at the 2024 Raider Rumble.
Easton Lopez and Loukas Henry both wrestled in the Tot division. This was their first tournament for the 2024-2025 season. Lopez finished the tournament in first place with one pin, earning a champion ring. Henry finished in second place with one pin, earning a dog tag necklace.
“I am very proud of these two young wrestlers. It takes a lot of courage to step onto the mat in front of so many people – especially when you are only five years old. They represented Liberal well and both seem very excited to hit the mat again!” coach Krista Holcomb said.
Liberal Wrestling Club will be sending 7 young wrestlers back to Amarillo this Saturday to compete at the Panhandle Nationals tournament.
LWC has also partnered with LK Sports to bring the first novice tournament to Liberal on December 7. It will be held at LHS gym with wrestling starting at 9 AM. This tournament is for 1st and 2nd year wrestlers. Many LWC advanced wrestlers will be helping to run the tournament. Admission is free to the public.
