Liberal Wrestling Club Battles in Garden City

Twenty-eight Liberal wrestlers braved the snow Saturday morning to go to a tournament
in Garden City. Two of the wrestlers competed up in age for this tournament as well.

Jason Fraire wrestled 8U and 10U and took 2nd and 3rd. Fraire recently started
attending tournaments and has done a fantastic job. Iovani Chavez, first year wrestler, wrestled 12U and 14U, taking 5th in 14U.

Other results are as follows:

6U: Loukas Henry, 4th; Zaidyn Gomez, 4th; Aaron-Daniel Dougherty, 4th; Baxter Williams, 4th; and Maximiliano Gomez, 4th.

8U: AJ Rodriguez, 2nd; Dominic Zuniga, 4th; Jeremiah Robertson, 3rd; and Jacob Perez, 3rd.

10U: Ian Holcomb, 6th; and Jaziel Contreras, 2nd.

12U: Joshua Robertson, 2nd; Elias Holcomb, 4th; Imauri Eikenberry, 3rd; Marcos Gomez, DNP (injury); Esteban Gomez, 2nd; and Briggin Macias, DNP.

14U: Jayden Heronemus, 3rd; Chevy-Lee Allen, 6th; Denzel Rodrigo, 5th; and Dominic Vega, 3rd.

6U Girls: Lorelai McKim, 3rd.

8U Girls: Alyvia Holcomb, 2nd.

10U Girls: Addy Gomez, 5th; and Camilla Tarango, 3rd.

12U Girls: Layla Robertson, 3rd.

Liberal Wrestling Club will head to Hugoton on Saturday for their final regular season
tournament. District will be held in Hays on Saturday, March 2. The top four of each weight and age will advance to State in Topeka the following week.
