Liberal Wins Final Two Games at North Cup

After that tough opening loss to Wichita East, the LHS soccer team bounced back nicely at the Wichita North Cup to win the final two games.
Friday the Redskins beat Wichita Trinity 4-2. Mike Fonseca scored two goals assisted by David Arroyo. Erich Ortiz scored assisted by Manny Arroyo and Christian Sobalvarro scored assisted by Fonseca.
Saturday the Redskins took down Wichita Heights 6-2. Mike Fonseca scored four goals while AJ Ramirez and Esteban Dominguez added goals. Manny Arroyo had three assists. Alfredo Moncayo, David Arroyo, and Erick Gandara added assists. Levi Flores had six saves. Liberal had four yellow cards compared to two from Heights. LHS led corner kicks 3-1.
The Redskins are 11-3 and host the Great Bend Panthers for senior night tonight at about 5:45 at the Gary Cornelsen Sports Complex. LHS is 5-1 in the WAC and controls their destiny to win the WAC outright.
