Early Friday morning, at 3:23 am, Firefighters responded to a report of a possible structure fire located at 618 Warren.  Firefighters responding from the south fire station stated they could see smoke as they were leaving the station in route to the call.  Once on scene they reported a working structure fire with flames and smoke coming from the bedroom windows.  Initial and secondary searchers were completed and found no one to be in the home at the time of the fire.  This was later confirmed as the homeowner was out of town.  The fire was quickly knocked down and was declared out at 3:34 am.  Salvage and overhaul was performed in order to ensure fire had not spread and found that the fire was contained to the room of origin.  Once the fire was extinguished investigators examined the scene and found the fire cause to be accidental/electrical in nature. There was extensive heat and smoke damage throughout the residence, with heavy fire damage in the room of origin.

Fire crews cleared the scene at 5:56am.  Liberal Police Department and Seward County EMS also assisted on scene.  No injuries reported for this incident.  The Fire Department responded with 11 personnel and 4 fire units.
