Liberal City Commission Approves notice of Hearing For Venture Kansas LLC Modification

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening and after approving the Standard Traffic Ordinances and the Public Offense Codes, approved setting a Hearing for a Modification request from Venture Kansas LLC on their CID. Venture Kansas is requesting to change the project cost from $2,500,00.00 to $4,000,000.00. They are also seeking to offset tenant improvements with rent forgiveness as a reimbursable expense. They also want to add broker fees not to exceed $500,000.00. The Public Hearing is scheduled for November 9th at 5:30pm.

The Commission also approved a Memorandum of Understanding for Kansas Search and Rescue Training and Participation and approved the submittal of a $90,000.00 Grant from the Kansas Historical Society for renovation, rehabilitation and preservation of historical properties. This grant if approved would require a 20% match from the City and would be used for the Depot.

The Commission also approved the purchase of 108 3 yard side load containers for the Solid waste Department in the amount of $97,101.00 which would come from the refuse reserve fund.
