LHS Softball Clinches Winning Season

For the first time since 2022, the Liberal softball team will finish with a winning season.  Liberal run ruled Dodge City 11-1 in five innings on Senior Night Thursday night at the National Beef Sports Complex.

Dodge City scored one in the first.  But the Redskins responded with two in the first and second, five in the fourth, and two in the fifth to end it.  Liberal out-hit Dodge City 10-1.  the Red Demons committed five errors and LHS had four.  Haiden Lyon was 3-4 with a double and three runs.  Brooklyn Short was 2-2 with a triple and two runs.  Zoey Torres was 2-3 with three RBI’s.  Haiden Lyon pitched three innings with four strikeouts and one walk and did not allow an earned run.  Allie Champion worked two scoreless innings in the circle.

Dodge City is 3-23 overall and 0-12 in the WAC.  Liberal is 14-12 overall and 3-9 in the WAC.  Liberal will play in their 6A regional against Wichita South Wednesday at Garden City.
