LAVERNE, OK – On June 22, 2025, the Laverne Police Department requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate allegations of sexual assault.

OSBI special agents began their comprehensive investigation and identified the suspect as 66-year-old Christopher Cassel, who is a pastor in Laverne, Oklahoma.

Based on the information and evidence gathered during the investigation, Cassel was arrested and booked into the Harper County Jail on two counts of Forcible Sodomy, one count of Distribution of Narcotics, and one count of Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor. This is still an ongoing investigation at this time.
