Illegal Horse Racing Facility Busted

Around 7:30 last night over 50 officers from various jurisdictions including Federal ICE (Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement) came together to raid an illegal horse racing facility north of Guymon in Texas County Oklahoma.

An undercover investigation had been conducted with the DA Task Force and OSBI for an extended period of time prior to the execution of the Search Warrant

It is estimated over 150 people were detained at the scene.

9 individuals were arrested for being involved in the illegal gaming operation including the owner, jockeys, horse owners, and those engaged in the actual operation of the track, 1 was arrested for narcotics violations, and 2 were arrested on obstruction charges. These individuals are in the Texas County Jail and some have detainers placed on them by Federal authorities. The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible for others.

19 horses were taken from the race track but it is planned for them to be released to responsible parties at some point this afternoon.

Many vehicles, horse trailers, cash, electronic equipment, and racing equipment were also confiscated at the scene.

Arrested were Michael Grajeda, 21, Steven Soto, 28, San Juana Torres, 40, John Clark, 60, Joes Preciado, 34, Jesus Manriquez, 20, Jesus Manriquez Sr., 47,Manuel M ontelongo, 22, Martin Montelongo, 39, Olivas Montelongo, 49,and Conception J. Montelongo-Perez.

District Attorney Mike Boringź??s office is handling the prosecution of the cases.
