Hugoton Places Third at State

Hugoton placed third at the 4A state cross country meet Saturday in Wamego scoring 110 points. Baldwin won state with 66 and Mulvane had 89. Ulysses placed sixth with 160 points. Hugoton’s jeber Jiminez was fourth at 16:50.33. Hugoton’s Patrick Weaver was 11th at 17:06.98. Israel Mendoza of Ulysses was 14th at 17:22.54.

In 2A, Elkhart’s Seph Iman was 8th at 17:37.09. Gunner Cordes of Meade was 10th at 17:40.93. Stanton County’s team was 2nd with 91 while Ness City won state with 76. In the girls race, Elkhart’s Lauren Carter was 10th at 16:50.04. Sublette’s Gentry Hibbard was 16th at 17:07.59. Meade’s Michaela Golliher was 18th at 17:09.89.
