US 54 design team to brief local officials

Prior to the public information open house events on Tuesday,

October 2, and Wednesday, October 3, the Kansas Department of Transportation

will brief public officials on the planned expansion of US-54 in Seward County.

Each briefing will begin at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday’s briefing will take place at the

Liberal Chamber of Commerce office in the Rock Island Depot. Wednesday’s

briefing will take place at Southwestern Heights High School in the cafeteria.

The public open house events will follow at 5:00 p.m. in each location.

The US-54 design team will present general information about the project, the

proposed timeline and what information is being gathered during this initial

phase. The team will also solicit input from officials and answer questions.
