Head On Crash Claims a Life in Texas County on Wednesday

A fatality accident occurred on Wednesday evening at 10:30 pm, approximately 5 miles west of Texhoma, OK.

A 1997 Peterbilt semi pulling a grain trailer, driven by George Thomas Diller, 76 of Gruver, TX. was eastbound on County Road II (Double I). A 2022 Chevrolet Silverado LTD, driven by Charles D Murdock, 68 of Boise City, OK was westbound on County Road II. The semi, upon approaching The Chevy, was left of center in the westbound lane. Upon meeting, the vehicles collided head on. After the collision, the Silverado rolled an unknown number of times coming to rest in the north ditch. The driver of the pick up was ejected sometime during the roll coming to rest in a field north of the vehicle. The semi, after collision, departed the roadway left coming to rest in a cornfield north of the roadway.

Murdock was pronounced dead at the scene by Grant Wadley of the Office of the Medical Examiner. He was transported to Henson Novak Funeral Directors in Guymon and then to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City, OK. Diller was not injured.
