KSCB News - January 26, 2012 8:32 am

The Garden City Farm and Ranch Show kicks off today, highlighting a plethora of weekend events.

Touted as western Kansas’ largest indoor farm and ranch show, the event is a three-day expo that is being held today through Saturday at the Finney County Fairgrounds.

The indoor expo features dozens of vendors, farm equipment demonstrations, horsemanship and cow calf handling clinics, and a dairy summit that is a new venture this year.

In addition, the dairy summit will feature presentations by Kansas State University instructors throughout Saturday.

The show opens at 9 a.m. Thursday and runs through Saturday night. A free lunch will be provided each day starting at noon to the first 500 guests.

Also, the Kansas Lions Club will host a free mobile screening unit at the exhibition building at the fairgrounds from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday. The screening unit will offer sight, hearing, blood pressure and diabetes testing. The public is invited to attend.
