CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The NJCAA announced Friday that former Seward County Lady Saints volleyball head coach Thais Baziquetto-Allen will be inducted into the NJCAA Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class.
Baziquetto-Allen will be formally inducted into the NJCAA Volleyball Hall of Fame on November 18th in Clarksville, Tennessee, at the NJCAA National Tournament Banquet.
Baziquetto-Allen spent three seasons leading the Seward volleyball program, from 2015-2017. She finished with an 86-28 overall record and was named the KJCCC Coach of the Year in 2017 as well as the Co-Coach of the Year in 2016.
The Saints won the 2016 Jayhawk West Conference Championship as well as the 2016 Region VI Championship, marking their first appearance in the national tournament since 2003. Maritza Mesa was named an NJCAA All-American under Baziquetto-Allen’s leadership.
The 2017 season saw Baziquetto-Allen and the Lady Saints repeat as Jayhawk West champions while Giovanna Kuntze was named the conference Most Valuable Player as well as an NJCAA First Team All-American.
Baziquetto-Allen went on to lead the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers to three consecutive NJCAA Division 1 National Championships, the first NJCAA Division 1 coach in history to pull off that feat. In nine years as an NJCAA Head Coach, Baziquetto-Allen had an all-time record of 231-53 (.813) and was 109-10 (.916) in conference play, winning seven Conference Championships, four Region Championships, and making six trips to the NJCAA National Tournament. She coached 11 NJCAA All-Americans with nine of those being 1st Team All-American selections.
Baziuetto-Allen was named the head coach of the Florida Gulf Coast University (NCAA D1) volleyball program in 2025.
