Fatality Accident Claims a Hardesty Man

A fatality accident occurred at 5:40 pm on Tuesday evening on US-412 at Mile 41, approximately 9 miles east and 0.7 miles south of Guymon, OK.

A 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe being driven by Hector Osuna Chavez, 43, of Hardesty, OK. was northbound on Highway 412, when he departed the roadway to the right, overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll approximately 5 times. Chavez was ejected from the Tahoe at some point during the roll. Chavez sustained head and neck injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Grant Wadley, of Guymon FD and the Office of the Medical Examiner. Seatbelts were not in use at the time of the accident.
