Expansion work to close U.S. 400 bypass in Ford County

Changes are tentatively set to begin May 8, along U.S. 400 bypass in Ford County as part of the four-lane expansion project on U.S. 50/400.

The U.S. 400 bypass, from the U.S. 50 junction south to the U.S. 56 junction, will be closed for three weeks due to road construction. Traffic will follow the signed detour on U.S. 50, 113 Road, U.S. 56 and U.S. 400.

Koss Construction of Topeka is the contractor on this $86 million project, which is expected to be completed by the spring of 2025, weather permitting.

For more information on this project, contact David Ubel, Area Construction Manager, at (620) 408-6794, or Yazmin Moreno, KDOT Public Affairs Manager for the southwest region, at (620) 260-6397.
