Election Results From The Oklahoma Panhandle

KSCB News - February 12, 2014 4:41 pm

Residents in seven Oklahoma Panhandle towns went to the polls Tuesday. Most elected school board members. However, voters in Boise City soundly defeated a nearly $1.6 million school construction bond that would have benefited the ag and technology departments with just 124 votes for and 296 votes against. The Tyrone school board had a better outcome – both the $40,000 construction bond proposal and their $180,000 transportation bond proposal won easy approval with close to 90 percent of voters saying yes. Unofficial winners in Tuesday’s school board elections were Greggory McReynolds in Forgan, Russ E Oyler in Beaver, Tim Lunceford in Tyrone, Pamela Bromlow in Turpin, and Rita O. De La O in Hardesty. In Goodwell, the board of trustees handily won approval to appoint both the town clerk and treasurer. Results are unofficial until certified by the county election boards on Friday.
