After Tyrone officers respond to a possible drunk driver. The incident ends with the driver’s husband being arrested.

According to the Guymon Daily Herald, officers were called by two concerned citizen on June 4 who reported a drunk driver. One citizen reported a female driving that nearly hit their vehicle. Another citizen called reporting a female driving, appearing to be very intoxicated and was headed south on Florence St. The reporting party informed officers the female had hit a guard rail while pulling into C-Mart, struck a power pole and then struck the ice machine which is on the west side of the store building, she also hit a bicycle located next to the ice machine.

Upon arrival, officers observed a female in the driver seat of a 2002 Chevrolet, an individual had taken her keys. Officers then noticed the passenger Glen Bryan, 56, walking across the store parking lot with a four-pack of wine coolers, unopened. He was reportedly staggering. He was then placed under arrest.

Officers returned to the driver, she was incoherent and appeared very intoxicated. Officers then carried the driver to a squad car, placed her under arrest and the two individuals were transported to Texas County Jail.

Upon arrival, officers noticed many bruises on the female and Bryan had a broken nose and black eye.

Officers asked Bryan what happened to the female, he reportedly stated she had fallen earlier in the day. When asked about his injuries, he stated he fell as well. Officers discovered that Bryan had fallen on a sidewalk earlier in the day, when asked if he needed medical assistance, he declined.

The female was very sick upon arrival to the detention center, she was then taken to Memorial Hospital of Texas County.

The hospital informed officials that the female was suffering from numerous bruises on her back, sides and legs, the bruises on her arms appeared to have been made with something other than fists, she was also suffering from bleeding to the brain. She was then flown to Amarillo, Texas with severe injuries that appeared to come from a beating. The female was never able to tell officers what had happened but seemed coherent at times.

Bryan was then questioned where he denied any abuse had taken place. Officers believe the alleged beating took place on either June 3 or 4.

Bryan has a lengthy history of alcohol abuse. Due to the severity of the female’s injuries, offices filed aggravated assault on Bryan.

Bryan is being held at the Texas County Detention Center on a bond of $250,000. He is being charged with Domestic Assault and Battery resulting in great bodily harm, a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 10 years, or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year.
