Dodge City Roundabout Project Opening Delayed

Joe Denoyer - December 15, 2023 3:57 pm

The opening of the roundabout at the U.S. 56/283/400/South 2nd Avenue intersection in Dodge City has been delayed, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

The construction project was scheduled to be finished by Dec. 15. The contractor expects to complete this project by mid-summer 2024. The contractor will be assessed for liquidated damages.

Construction on the roundabout project began in February 2023. A nearby pavement resurfacing project, which extends south one mile from the 112 Road/U.S. 56/400 intersection and then one mile west, also began in February. The contractor expects to complete this resurfacing project by spring 2024.

KOSS Construction, Topeka, is the contractor on the projects.

For more information on this project, contact David Ubel, Area Construction Manager, at (620) 682-7938 or Yazmin Moreno, KDOT Public Affairs Manager for Southwest Kansas, at (620) 260-6397.
