With the first day of school at USD 480 schools on Wednesday, LHS has a new principal.

After 8 years as head principal and 25 years at the school, Ashley Kappelmann is leaving LHS
to take a job at the USD 480 Central Office as the district’s Director of Recruitment
and Education. Darla Forney comes to Liberal to be high school principal. She has
been in education for 24 years and 19 years in White Deer, Texas. She was a principal,
assistant superintendant, a coach, and teacher at White Deer. School begins in one
week at Liberal.
