KSCB News - June 21, 2010 12:00 am

A Turpin man who was not wearing a seatbelt was killed yesterday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred late Sunday afternoon, shortly after 5, when Jason C. Keys, 46, of Turpin, Okla., was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 64 just one and a half miles east of Hooker. His 2003 Dodge Dakota veered off the left side of the road for an unknown reason. The truck then overcorrected and went off the right side of the road and struck a culvert. Keys was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigating the accident were members of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Texas County Sheriff’s Office, Hooker Police Dept. and Hooker EMS.
