Firework Rules & Safety Tips
The City of Liberal allows fireworks to be used in city limits during specific dates and times, only at legal locations. Please see below for more information:
When can I use fireworks?
July 4th from 8:00 p.m. – Midnight
July 5th from 8:00 p.m. – 11 p.m.
Which fireworks are illegal?
Bottle rockets & M80’s.
Where are fireworks illegal to use?
Parks, Streets, & Schools
Public or Private Parking Lots
Private Grounds or Vacant Lots Without Permission
Be a good neighbor – clean up your trash.
Safety Tips:
Always purchase high quality fireworks from reliable retailers.
Always read & follow label directions.
Have an adult supervise all firework activities.
Never light fireworks indoors.
Have a water source nearby.
Never experiment or attempt to make your own fireworks.
Only light one firework at a time.
Never attempt to reignite malfunctioning fireworks.
Never allow small children to ignite fireworks.
Store fireworks in a cool, dry place.
Water down used fireworks before throwing them away.
Never throw fireworks at a person or vehicle.
Never carry fireworks in your pocket.
Never shoot fireworks in or out of a glass container.
