Christine’s Win Mainstreet Guymon’s Best Facade Award

KSCB News - March 20, 2012 3:59 pm

Christine’s Home Furnishings received the Main Street Guymon “Best Façade Rehabilitation” award from the Main Street Board of Directors.
The nomination sent in to the Oklahoma Main Street Office said, “Christine Ansley took Main Street over like a tornado, only no destruction, just good things happening in her wake. Where was once the Guymon business legacy, Panhandle Furniture, Ansley has brought color and energy to these walls … and sidewalks.
“Christine’s Home Furnishings brought a new color scheme, that of black and gold. The green color scheme for Panhandle Furniture came down and the black and gold went up for the awnings. The signage changed. And then the color of the sidewalk changed. The sidewalk because a beautiful rich red, the color of the brick streets.
“Then the beautiful black planters showed up … and the greenery in them. Quickly with just a little time and effort this Main Street area became the most beautiful part of the walk. Especially with the huge windows showing the changes being done inside the store and the gorgeous furniture and other fun things for sale.”
The award is to presented to Ansley on April 17 at the Main Street Guymon Garden Party and Awards Presentation. If you would like to attend this casual evening (dinner included), contact Melyn Johnson at [email protected] or call 338-6246.
Ansley received a $1,000 Façade Grant from Main Street Guymon to help complete her project. There is a fund raiser for the façade grant program on April 29th, This Place Matters Tour.
