Incident at a Truck Wash Claims a Life

On Friday, September 1st, 2023 at 0856 hours, the Liberal Police Department, Liberal Fire, Seward County Fire, Seward County Deputies, and Seward County EMS responded to 1200 E. Pancake, Red Barn Truck Wash, in reference to an EMS Call.

Arriving responders located 3 adult male employees who were unconscious in a tanker trailer. All 3 males were extracted and transported to SWMC. While at the hospital, one of the individuals was pronounced deceased, one individual was transported to Wichita, and the third individual was admitted to SWMC.

OSHA was notified and is investigating the incident.
