A freshman from Capão da Canoa, Brazil, Benck spent all 90 minutes in goal for the Lady Saints as they defeated Otero 2-1 in La Junta on Friday to open their season. She recorded two saves and helped shut Otero out in the second half helping Seward hold onto the 2-1 advantage. The win also marked head coach Marcela Bueno’s first win as head coach of the Lady Saints.

Benck is the second Lady Saint in the three seasons of the program to be honored with a weekly award joining Sydney Williams who was also named KJCCC Goalkeeper of the Week in 2023.

Seward returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 2nd, as they once again travel to Colorado, this time for a 3 p.m. game with Trinidad State at Los Ninos Park in Trinidad.
