LIBERAL, Kan. — Four finalists for the Seward County Community College Vice President of Student Affairs position will visit the College in the next two weeks. The interview process includes multiple meetings with campus groups as well as a tour and opportunities for candidates to get acquainted with Liberal and its residents.

“Our first candidate, David Hardman, will be on campus Monday, May 22,” said SCCC Director of Human Resources Charlotte Peterson. The community is welcome to attend a public meet-and-greet session at 11 a.m. in the Saints Library. Peterson noted that questions for each candidate have been pre-selected from questions submitted by the entire campus, in order to ensure compliance with labor law.

“As we have in the past, we invite our community to come to campus to meet these potential members of the SCCC executive team,” said SCCC President Brad Bennett. “I like to remind our team that ‘Community’ is our middle name, and this is one of the ways we live that out.”

Following the Monday reception, SCCC has scheduled interviews for three other finalists:

• Joel Figgs interviews Tuesday, May 23, with a public session at 11 a.m. in the Saints Library.

• Dr. Karleen Howard interviews Tuesday, May 30, with a public session at 11 a.m. in the Saints Library.

• Dr. Miron Billingsley interviews Wednesday, May 31, with a public session at 11 a.m. in the Saints Library.

“Our vision is to start the 2023-24 academic year strong, with a full executive team in place,” said SCCC President Brad Bennett. “We are excited to welcome these candidates to campus and introduce them to our community.”
