On Tuesday, June 10th, 2025 the Liberal City Commission welcomed Black Hills Energy to their Regular Commission meeting.

The meeting opened with a special donation presentation from Black Hills Energy to the Liberal Fire Department. Black Hills Energy provided a donation in the amount of $2,330 through their “Funds for Firefighters” program, which focuses on funding equipment and safety resources for communities they serve. Liberal Fire Chief Kelly Kirk shared that the funds will be used for a new training resource mannekin.
