LIBERAL, KANSAS – The International Pancake Day Board is proud to announce that Black Hills Energy has once again pledged its support as an International Corporate Sponsor—the highest level of donor recognition—for the upcoming Pancake Day celebration. This continued partnership underscores Black Hills Energy’s dedication to preserving and promoting this cherished community tradition.

This year, Black Hills Energy’s sponsorship will directly support the International Live Video Conference with Olney, England—a signature event that connects the two communities in a spirited celebration of friendly competition and shared history dating back to 1950.

“We are incredibly grateful for Black Hills Energy’s ongoing support,” said Kara Howery, Pancake Day Board Coordinator. “Their commitment as an International Corporate Sponsor is invaluable, allowing us to honor the tradition of both communities finding out who won the current year’s race on a live video conference. This partnership strengthens the historic bond between Liberal and our competitor city, Olney, England.”

Black Hills Energy has been a long-standing supporter of International Pancake Day, and their involvement reflects the company’s strong community values. “Supporting International Pancake Day is something we truly cherish,” said Elyse Torres of Black Hills Energy. “This tradition brings people together in such a joyful and meaningful way, and we’re honored to play a part in connecting Liberal and Olney. It’s more than a sponsorship—it’s about celebrating our community traditions, history, and the bonds that bring us together across the globe.”

The sponsorship will be highlighted throughout the upcoming months leading up to International Pancake Day. The Board encourages everyone to follow their social media channels for updates about this year’s festivities
