Bee Jays Struggle Offensively in Loss to Angels

The Liberal Bee Jays mustered two runs on four hits in a 6-2 loss to the Gameday Angels from Parker, Colorado Thursday night at Brent Gould Field.  It was the first game of a four game weekend series.

The Angels scored three runs in the first on three hits and two errors.  One run was unearned.  Liberal scored in the bottom of the third to make it 3-1.  Kyle Sandner was hit by a pitch.  Diego Davis singled through the right side and Sandner went first to third.  Drew Grego ripped a sac fly to left.  Gameday put the game away with three in the sixth on three hits.  The B.J.’s scored in the bottom of the sixth.  Landon Bruce singled and would score on a wild pitch.

The Angels out-hit the Bee Jays 7-4.  The Angels won despite five errors.

Jason Davis was Epic Touch Player of the Game going four innings with eight strikeouts and two walks.  He allowed two earned runs.  Easton Rodgers pitched well for the Bee Jays out of the bullpen going four scoreless innings with five strikeouts and four walks.

Gameday is 3-1 and the Bee Jays fall to 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the Rocky Mountain.  Liberal hosts the Angels Friday night at 7pm at Brent Gould Field.  Sharp-McQueen PA is the buyout sponsor.  The game airs on 1270 and 92.3.
