Bee Jays Miss NBC for First Time in 11 Years

For the first time since 2014, the Liberal Bee Jays are not a part of the NBC World Series.  The Bee Jays won their finale 4-1 over the Dodge City A’s Sunday night at Brent Gould Field.  The Bee Jays go 6-2 against NBC bound Dodge City.

The A’s plated an unearned run in the third.  Liberal scored two in the bottom of the third.  After two walks, Carson Willis singled home a run and Drew Garcia lofted a sac fly to center for the 2-1 lead.  Drew Garcia slammed a solo home run to left in the sixth before David Garcia added a solo home run to left for the 4-1 lead.

Liberal out-hit Dodge 6-4.  Thomas Wrehe was Epic Touch Player of the Game going five innings without allowing an earned run.  Leandro Tamaki and Sean Sage added scoreless innings.  Carson Willis was 2-3.  Drew Garcia drove home two.

The A’s are 18-19 overall and 14-10 in the Rocky Mountain.  They still have a league game at Hays Monday night.  The Bee Jays finish 15-15 overall and 11-14 in the Rocky Mountain.  They miss the NBC for the first time since 2014 when they were 19-21.  They also avoid their first losing season since 2014.
