Bee Jays Make it 10 Straight

The  Liberal Bee Jays won their 10th straight game with a 9-3 win over the Colorado Roughriders Wednesday night at Brent Gould Field.  The Bee Jays finish their home stand 11-1.

Cooper Hext began the scoring with a home run to right.  Liberal scored three in the third.  Jordan Thompson and Conner Westenburg walked.  Tyce Armstrong singled home a run.  Zach Yorke laced a two RBI double to left center to give Liberal a 4-0 lead. The Roughriders scored three unearned runs in the fifth to make it 4-3.  Gavin Brzozowski walked and scored on a wild pitch in the fifth for a 5-3 lead.  Zach Yorke singled home two in the seventh for a 7-3 lead.  Ethan Frey hit a towering double off the wall in right in the eight to lead off the inning.  Conner Westenburg singled home a run.  Gavin Brzozowski singled.  Tyce Armstrong singled home a run.

Liberal was solid on the mound.  Jett Brown closed it out with four shutout innings with four strikeouts and no walks.  Robert Bonilla pitched three innings and did not allow an earned run.  Dylan Kerbow pitched two shutout innings to begin the game.  Zach Yorke was our Epic Touch Player of the game going 2-4 with four RBI’s.  Tyce Armstrong added two hits.

Liberal out-hit the Roughriders 8-4 and the Roughriders had three errors compared to Liberal’s two errors.

Liberal is 19-4 overall and 15-1 in the Rocky Mountain.  The Roughriders are 4-14 in the RMBL.  Liberal puts on a free youth clinic in Hugoton Thursday from 10-12.  The Bee Jays next play Monday at 5:30 CST at Colorado Springs on Monday on 1270, 92.3, and The KSCB and The Legend App.  Pre-game at 5:15.
