Bee Jays Lack Enough Host Families

Former Major League manager and Perryton native Mike Hargrove is back in Liberal. Attention will follow him as ESPN will be in Liberal next Thursday and Friday for the start of the baseball season. Players are beginning to trickle into town to meet their host families and get ready for the first official workout on Monday. But there is a problem. There isn’t enough housing for the players yet. The Bee Jays are about eight beds short. There are 20 host families but that’s shy of the 28 man roster. Last year the Bee Jays had more than enough home throughout the season. Host families are responsible for housing the player for the summer and providing some meals.
